Karl-Alexander Seidel has assumed his new role as Head of Daimler Buses India from May 1, 2020. In this function, he is responsible for the development, production, and sales of BharatBenz buses, Mercedes-Benz luxury coaches, and bus chassis for India as well as exports of bus chassis and fully built buses to markets in Africa, Latin America, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. Prior to this, Karl-Alexander worked as part of the team that established DICV in 2008 and 2009 before re-joining the company in 2014, initially being responsible for powertrain supplier management. Since then he has headed various functions, including Logistics, Supplier & Quality Management, and Operations at Daimler Buses India. Karl-Alexander was born in 1970 in Germany. After graduating Diploma in Electrical Engineering from PORSCHE AG Stuttgart, he started his career at Daimler in 2001. Between then and 2014 he held a variety of management functions in the fields of Reporting, Business Development, Product Planning, and Homologation, mainly in Daimler's commercial vehicles division, as well as at TASIAP GmbH in Stuttgart.
