Denise, an Edinburgh University law graduate, has worked in the media industry for over thirty years.

Beginning her career at Aberdeen Press and Journal Ltd she held the position of Marketing Manager.  She has also held a number of senior posts, including Group Sales Promotion Controller of Thomson Regional Newspapers, Sales Promotion Manager of the Scotsman Publications Ltd and Marketing Director of Trinity Mirror plc (Midlands division).

She joined the Scottish Daily Record and Sunday Mail Ltd in 2000 (part of the Trinity Mirror Plc) and held a number of posts, laterally as Managing Director of Trinity Mirror’s Scottish & North East of England division.

In 2014 Denise took up the position of Head of Commercial in DC Thomson with a remit to lead the advertising, marketing and events teams of the Newspaper Division.

In 2017, Denise became Chief Commercial Officer of DCT Media, adding radio to her remit. She is also the President of the Scottish Newspaper Society.
