Elsie Cheung was appointed Chief Operating Officer of the South China Morning Post in January 2011. In this vital role, she implements strategic change to bring SCMP’s cultural and digital transformation to bear. She spearheads SCMP’s business operations, including advertising and marketing solutions, circulation and syndication, global marketing, print production, and the recruitment services business.
Ms Cheung started her career at SCMP before broadening her experience at other well-established organisations including Television Broadcast Limited (TVB), Hong Kong Telecom, and Sunevision. Upon her return to SCMP, Ms Cheung held the senior leadership positions of Head of Sales and Director of Advertising prior to her appointment as COO; she is now a 17-year veteran of the company.
