Francisco Pedro Presas Pinto de Balsemão is the CEO of Impresa, the largest media company in Portugal, since March 2016. Previously (October 2012), he acted as Impresa’s Executive Director and COO responsible for Human Resources, Legal Affairs and Sustainability. He graduated in Law from Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Lisbon and has a Masters Degree in Law from Oxford University, UK. He also undertook business and management courses at Nova School of Business and Economics (Lisbon), Universidade Católica Portuguesa (Lisbon), Kellogg School of Management (Chicago, USA), IMD Business School (Lausanne, Switzerland), Esade Business School (Spain), and Singularity University (Silicon Valley, USA).
He began his career in 2003, as an Associate at Linklaters (Lisbon) and later, in 2008, as a Human Resources Consultant in Heidrick & Struggles (Lisbon). He joined Impresa in 2009, as Human Resources Director. Before, in 2007, he was an Assistant Adviser in the Portuguese Mission to the United Nations (New York), having worked in the 3rd Committee (Human Rights).
Francisco is also the Vice-President of SIC Esperança, an NGO, since 2013, and a Director of the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, since November 2017.
