Ian Hamilton is UPM`S Area Sales Director for South East Asia and is responsible for all UPM paper sales from newsprint to coated to label papers. Ian is a 30yr veteran of the paper industry and all within UPM. He started on the production side of UPM Caledonian Paper in Scotland and held various positions before heading up sales. In 2004 he moved to Tokyo as Sales Manager looking after printers and publishers all over Japan. In 2007 he moved again to the USA and became UPM`s North American Technical Sales Director.

Ian had started travelling on business to Asia in 1997 and loved the region so when he was offered the post in Singapore in 2015 he couldn`t turn it down. Since his wife is Singaporean and he had been a PR from 2005 this made it an even easier decision ! In the past two years UPM sales in SEA have grown by over 10% per annum and UPM remains committed to Asia for the long term.
