Marc Lavallee leads a desk of programmer/journalists who build software that empowers reporters, evolves new storytelling forms and creates new editorial products. He is also a board member of The Coral Project, a Knight Foundation-funded collaboration between The Times, The Washington Post and Mozilla to improve communities on news sites through open-source software. Prior to joining The Times in 2011, he developed news apps, content management systems and other Web site features at NPR, The Washington Post, The Boston Globe and National Journal.
