Head of Indian Language Services, BBC. Rupa is a highly driven creative media executive and editorial leader with twenty years’ experience of working for the BBC in India, The UK and Nigeria.
Since 2016 she has been building and leading the BBC’s strategically important language operation in India, being responsible for a staff of more than 200 journalists, working in 6 languages and creating content on all platforms.
She has transformed the operation into the highest performing language team in the whole BBC and was awarded the BBC’s “leader of the year” award for her achievements. Rupa brings strengths in journalistic and editorial standards, creativity and dynamic leadership.
She has a long personal track record in TV, Radio and digital journalism but is also a champion of building creative and inspirational working environments
