Who Can Submit an Entry (Entries)?

You can register projects that have not been registered for previous Print Innovation Awards.

Registration is open for newspaper and magazine publishers, advertisers and advertising agencies. Each registered project will be treated as a separate entry.

Entries must be prepared and uploaded by a publisher, an advertising company, an advertising agency, or a public relations firm working on the company’s behalf.

Multiple Entries

Unlimited entries can be submitted and payment must accompany each entry.

Entry Essentials

To be eligible for judging, your entry should meet the following criteria:

  • Please describe the basic idea, implementation and strategy behind your project. Present your project, its particularities, what distinguishes it as an innovative project, the creative approach, which challenges had to be mastered and how you measured the success of your project.
  • Identify the involved parties of your project, like publisher, advertiser, ad agency, creative agency etc.
  • Identify the launch date of your project.
  • Pictures and – if possible – a video or PDF showreel of your project should be included in the entry or submitted as separate files.
  • Supporting material should not surpass 10 MB if it is sent as an attachment.
  • Web-based material and video content on YouTube / Vimeo is preferred instead of video attachments (it is often easier for the jury to access websites than to download major files).

Judging Criteria

The expert jury consists of members of the World Printers Forum Board as well as other experts who represent different countries and different qualifications and skills.

The jury will be looking for projects that have demonstrated innovation success and excelled with print innovations in the area of advertising or product innovation.

Your entry will be scored based on the following criteria:

  • Innovation
  • Creativity
  • Excellence
  • Customer/Consumer Relevancy and Value

The Judging Process

  1. Judges score each entry within each category based on outlined criteria.
  2. All jury scores are combined to create an overall score for each entry.
  3. The scores are then totalled and the highest scoring entries will determine the category winners.

Disqualifications

Syndicated material or campaigns that are not specifically prepared for your company are not eligible. WAN-IFRA reserves the right to disqualify any entry that fails to conform to the rules. Disqualified entries will not be judged. Fees for these entries will not be returned. WAN-IFRA is not responsible for materials entered in the competition.

You will be also disqualified if you have not paid the entry fee.

Confidential Information

All material will remain confidential to the judges. Winning projects may be used in post-event materials to promote best practices. Permission will be sought from entrants before publishing.

Data Protection

Participants must grant WAN-IFRA the full rights to retain and use, free-of-charge, any images or material from the contest for publication in brochures, books, exhibitions, websites, or for educational and promotional purposes.
