FOCUS SESSION: FUTURE OF SEARCH

One of the central points on which Google helps the media develop their business is via distribution of content. Google offers a variety of products to this effect, directing more than 10 billion free clicks a month to news sites, and the pillar of this is Google Search. Google Search has been in constant evolution since 1998, but the predominance of mobile to access information and the maturity of new technologies, such as natural language understanding and artificial intelligence, are opening a new era of innovation. Berthier Ribeiro-Neto, Director of Google's Latin America Center of Engineering in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, is one of the key players of this new era. He leads the team of engineers who are making the future of Search in Latin America and he'll tell us what opportunities this opens for news media companies.
