Alice Budisatrijo oversees Facebook’s partnerships with news media in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore. In her role, she trains journalists and social media teams to leverage Facebook and Instagram as creative storytelling platforms and to increase engagement and distribution. She works with major Indonesian publishers such as Kompas and Liputan6, as well as digital natives and high-potential newcomers including Tirto.id and Narasi.tv. She is also involved in News Feed integrity efforts to support quality news on the platform.

Prior to joining Facebook, she spent seven years with BBC News, most recently as Indonesia correspondent, covering breaking news around South East Asia. She was part of the BBC’s Typhoon Haiyan: Destruction in the Philippines team that was nominated for an Emmy for outstanding coverage of a breaking news story in a regularly scheduled newscast.

Alice holds a Master of Public Policy from the University of Oxford, and a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Indiana University, Bloomington.
