Secretary of Public Media, Argentina

Jorge Luis Sigal is a journalist and editor. He was designated by President Mauricio as Secretary of Public Media on December of 2015. He's in charge of Radio Televisión Argentina and Télam SE, the national state news agency.

Born in the city of San Juan, Argentina, on August 5, 1953, Sigal was editor in several national media outlets, editor-in-chief of weeklies Somos and Gente (Editorial Atlántida) and Sunday editor of newspaper Página 12; he participated in the foundation - as editor-in-chief - of the newspaper Perfil in 1998 and was editor-in-chief of weekly magazine 3 Puntos until 2003. He also served as columnist for the newspaper Crítica, collaborated in the Focus and Opinion sections of La Nación newspaper, in the cultural weekly newspaper ADN and in Noticias magazine. Until March 2013 he was director of the publishing house Capital Intellectual SA.

Previous to his current role in Macri's governmnet, he was a political analyst in Radio Continental, one of the most popular radio programs in Argentina. He was also a political analyst at newspaper Perfil and was part of the Executive Commission of the Club Político Argentino, a civil association composed of prestigious Argentina intellectuals and politicians.
