Marco Túlio Pires is the Google News Lab Lead for Brazil. He studied Electrical Engineering and Journalism in Brazil, and Computer Science and Business in the US. He worked as News Program Coordinator for Globo TV, and as Science News Reporter for VEJA, Brazil's biggest weekly publication. In the State Government of São Paulo, he was the Transparency, Technology and Innovation adviser to the Secretary of Social Development. He's the founder of Journalism++ São Paulo, the first data journalism agency in Brazil. He also launched School of Data in the country and became the Global Manager of the program overseeing its network in 14 countries.
