Michael Lang is the editor in chief of the independent Austrian news agency APA (Austria Presse Agentur). He started his journalistic career 30 years ago within the agency as a reporter and general news editor and joined the editorial management in 1997. 

Since then Michael was responsible for almost all relevant innovation projects concerning strategy, editorial workflows and multimedia. In 2003 he started designing the new headquarters of APA in Vienna including the most innovative and largest newsroom in continental Europe at that time which is still considered a role model for new agencies worldwide, before he took over his actual position in 2005. Currently he oversees APA’s transformation from a news- to   news-tech-agency.   

For more than 15 years Michael acts as a speaker and presenter on the topic of editorial innovation in conferences worldwide. He is a board member of the Austrian press club „Concordia“ and teaches editorial management at the University of Vienna.
