In 1996 Pascal started working at De Standaard as a freelance cultural worker, then he became regional journalist for De Nieuwe Gazet . After a short period at the national editorial staff of Het Laatste Nieuws , he started working for Het Nieuwsblad where he was appointed chief of news.

In November 2011, he was appointed as "editor-in-chief news" of Het Nieuwsblad and in November 2013, together with Liesbeth Van Impe, he was appointed chief editor, succeeding Guy Fransen .
