Rachel is community organiser at the Bureau Local, part of the Bureau of Investigative Journalism. The Bureau Local is a cross-UK, collaborative journalism model that is re-imagining local journalism, and which has already inspired similar models in other countries, such as Germany. She is also one of the founders and journalist directors of award-winning Scottish investigative journalism cooperative The Ferret, where she was one of the key team guiding the first few years of the start-up.  Based in Edinburgh, Rachel has worked as a journalist for almost 20 years, with a particular interest in social justice and marginalised communities. She is also a recent alumnus of the European Journalism Centre's News Impact Network programme.
