Zoe Murphy is head of news innovation at BBC Voice, one of the corporation's fastest growing departments. She is responsible for developing user-centred, cutting-edge experiences for emerging Voice AI platforms. Before joining the Voice team, Zoe was editorial lead on a BBC Research & Development project exploring new digital storytelling formats.

Zoe's 16-year career in international journalism began at the BBC News website, during a time of rapid change in the digital industry. She was social media editor for the launch of the innovative daily news show, Outside Source, on World Service Radio and World TV. Zoe went on to edit the radio version. The team’s coverage of the Inauguration of Donald Trump was shortlisted for AIB Media Excellence Award 2017.

Passionate to share her experience and insight, Zoe is also a digital journalism trainer for the BBC Academy.
