Over the past few years, Aftenposten in Norway has transformed its editorial and business strategies, focused on its audience and on digital subscriptions. It was one of the first newspapers to adopt a hybrid online subscription model, using both metered and premium content strategies.
Today Aftenposten, Schibsted's leading quality daily in Norway, has 112,000 digital subscriptions and 240,000 in total.
Sidney Glastad is Acquisition Manager at Aftenposten, in charge of the paper's subscription strategy and the subscription team's engagement with the editorial department. He will share some of the key strategies Aftenposten uses in marketing and acquiring subscriptions, and will describe the paper's focus for 2020.
