Catarina Carvalho was former Executive Editor at Diário de Notícias, the oldest national daily, part of Global Media Group, Portugal. She has been responsible for the digital transition of the newspaper – now only on paper on Saturdays. She has been a journalist since she was 19, working with many national newspapers and magazines – Diário de Notícias, Visão, Sábado, Expresso – covering justice, social affairs, and immigration beats, before becoming a reporter at large and holding leading newsroom positions. She is also a member of the Online News Association and part of the editorial board of Nonio – the Portuguese media publishers single sign-on.

CEO, eldiario.es, Spain

Rosalía Lloret became the new CEO of eldiario.es in January 2020. Before that, she was the Director of Institutional and Member Relations of the Online Publishers Association in Europe. Her other previous positions include: Chief Digital Officer at Prisa News, where she lead the digital strategy and business development of El País, AS, Cinco Días and PRISA Magazines; and Chief Digital Officer of El Mundo, Marca, Expansión at Unidad Editorial. Earlier in her career, Lloret co-founded two of the largest internet projects in Spain: Terra.es and Ya.com. She also set up the internet division of RTVE, and served as the first director of RTVE.es as well as being a member of the Management Committee of RTVE. In addition to a degree in Journalism from the Universidad Complutense, she holds a master’s degree in Journalism from El País, and a master’s degree in Politics and Global Economy from the London School of Economics.

Deputy Editor in Chief, Marca, Spain

Riquelme is Deputy Editor in Chief of Marca, the daily sports newspaper in Spain. He started as a reporter in 1998 prior to moving into the role of editor. Along with his team, he evaluates all the features that the newspaper will publish (print and web edition) and is busy with editing content, writing some articles, motivating and developing editorial newsroom, and proposing headlines and different points of view of the contents. He is also Project Manager editorial of the International MARCA's expansion.

Editorial Director, Group Vocento, Spain

In his capacity of Editorial Director of Vocento, Fernando is in charge creating new editorial projects and the development of these digital assets, the coordination of all the newsrooms and supervision of all the company's newspapers, including ABC and regional newspapers, as well as Colpisa, (Vocento's news agency) the newspaper supplements and magazines, both in printed and digital formats. He is a member of the executive committee of Vocento, and has played an important role in the digital transformation of all newsrooms. Previously, he was editorial director of all the ​​regional media and magazines, director of editorial innovation and development, deputy director of the Colpisa news agency. Fernando holds a BA (Hons) in Journalism at the Pontifical University of Salamanca, and he began his tenure at Vocento woking for El Correo after completing, in the year 2000, a Masters in Journalism created by the same newspaper, where he served as a teacher years later. He has lectured in several universities and presented at various international forums and was the winner in Spain of the ‘EditorsLab’, awarded by the Global EditorsNetwork in 2014. He is also the author of the novel "The written city ’.
