Since joining WAN-IFRA in 1997, Valérie has accrued more than 20 years of experience as a media journalist. Currently, she is a team member of WAN-IFRA's Global Advisory division where she works with the Advisory Team in leading global consulting projects. She is also the Programme Lead for WAN-IFRA's top global conferences including: World News Media Congress and our Digital Media Event Series. She has contributed to numerous research reports, including  Alternative Revenue Streams for Publishers. As part of her research, Valérie interviewed numerous publishers who had found success discovering new business models - whether its through events, e-commerce, video or marketing services - Valérie has experience taking the pulse on what generates revenue for publishers.

Chief Revenue Officer, CRUX Knowledge

Christoph Pleitgen has made his career at the threshold of news content and intelligent technology. With more than 20 years of experience in this sector, Christoph currently holds the position of Chief Revenue Officer at CRUX Knowledge, where he is responsible for driving worldwide growth. CRUX helps to overcome information overload by measuring how much each reader knows about any topic based on their reading history. The combination of measurement, gamification and recommendation drives unprecedented increases in engagement. Previously, Christoph held senior leadership positions in a number of young media tech companies such as Wochit and LiveU. Before discovering his love for start-ups, he built his career at Thomson Reuters, where he worked in a number of senior management roles before serving as Managing Director of the Reuters News Agency. Christoph holds degrees in Economics and Administrative Sciences. He lives in London.

Co-Founder & CEO, Few¢ents

Abhishek is a seasoned business leader and technology product manager. He has worked in management consulting with PwC and Altman Solon in Boston, USA before moving to Singapore permanently. In Singapore he has held roles in market development with Ericsson and DHL before branching out to start his own venture, Shoffr, a digital marketing solution that provides online to offline attribution for digital marketers. In 2019, Abhishek sold Shoffr to Affle, a publicly listed ad-tech company in India. After solving the advertiser’s offline attribution problem, Abhishek has now set his eyes on solving the content monetisation problem for online publishers with Fewcents.

CEO, Upscore

Andreas Demuth has over 20 years of experience in digital media and internet businesses. He started his career at Bertelsmann and was instrumental in the building of the European subscription business for AOL Bertelsmann.  He held the position of General Manager for a Bertelsmann group company in Dublin for several years which led to numerous senior leadership positions at AOL Europe in London, as well as in Hamburg where he was Managing Director of AOL Germany. 

Prior to Upscore Andreas was CEO of an Internet and Media Group in CEE, based in Prague.  Andreas is co-founder and CEO of Upscore which provides a Content Intelligence Platform, tailormade for digital publishing.
