Sonia Bhaskar works with New Delhi Television (NDTV), India's first and most prominent private broadcasters, as Head of TV and Web Synergy for the Group. She has been with NDTV for over 20 years and has held different positions over the years, from being a researcher and business journalist working on India’s longest running business show – India Business Report on BBC World (produced by NDTV) to being Editorial in-charge of various weekly feature shows on NDTV’s business channel NDTV Profit, Sonia went on to head technology programming for the network, producing shows like Gadget Guru which crossed many milestones and set numerous benchmarks being the first show of its kind on Indian television. After 15 years of working in the broadcast medium, Sonia moved to join NDTV’s digital team and in her current position, develops and executes digital and social media content and promotion strategies for television shows, events and brand solution concepts for sponsors, for all channels of NDTV.

Assistant Professor, IIMC Dhenkenal

 

Sambit Pal - Assistant Professor, IIMC Dhenkenal - A multimedia journalist and media educator Sambit Pal is currently teaching journalism at Indian Institute of Mass Communication, Dhenkanal, Odisha. He has experience of working in broadcast and digital media for one and a half decades. He was an assistant editor at ABP Digital, bureau head of Times Now in Kolkata and also worked with various Bengali channels like Star Ananda, Kolkata TV. He started his career with Zee News. An alumnus of Presidency College, Kolkata, a graduate in Political Science, he did his Master's in International Journalism at Cardiff University in the UK under Chevening Scholarship. He is also part of the trainers' network of Google News Initiative in India and regularly holds workshops on fact-checking and fake news verification. He has edited monographs on How to Win Stress and PTSD for Journalist in March 2020 and Media in the time of Covid-19 in June 2020.

Varadarajan Ananthakrishnan (Raj) – is a Google News Initiative Network Fact-Check Trainer. He is a television Professional since 1991 working predominantly in the News and Current Affairs segment, as well as in infotainment and entertainment genre. His experience ranges from Bilingual director, producer, writer and a trainer. Multilingual communicator he is comfortable in English, Hindi, Tamil and Gujarati.

Joydeep Das Gupta – is the Editor of News Sense, a social and developmental digital news platform as and a regular columnist with National weekly Uday India and International News Content Platform Scrabbl. Joydeep is also a Google News Initiative India Training Network as a Trainer with expertise on identifying and debunking Fake News.
