The winner of the product for young readers in the Print Innovation Awards was Børneavisen from Denmark. Børneavisen focusses on parents and grandparents as subscribers – primarily from the existing Politiken and Jyllands-Posten subscriber base.
A preliminary analysis and research has shown surprising trends: the young audience appreciates the printed paper and find it more professional. Youngsters also see it as more “real” compared to online news. Said one respondent: “Online you can just change the headline or anything else. On print, the deadline is final.”
Louise Abildgaard Grøn has built the business case for Børneavisen. She has been running JP/Politikens Hus' award winning CSR-activities aimed at primary schools. The activities have been running across three newspapers: Jyllands-Posten, Ekstra Bladet and Politiken.
