Chris Lee is the President of Deseret Digital Media. Previously, he served as Publisher of the Deseret News and General Manager of DeseretNews.com. Prior to joining Deseret Media Companies, Chris was CEO of Heritage Makers, an on-demand publisher of photo products. He also worked as Director of New Business Development for Ancestry.com. Chris serves as a member of the Salt Lake Chamber Board of Governors and on the board of ChatBooks. He received a BA with Honors from Brigham Young University, and later received an MBA from Harvard Business School. Christina is currently the CEO at Stakk Factory Limited, a digital media startup that is creating a mobile social news network bringing awe inspiring content that blends fun experience with meaning.

Nicole Wilke is the Head of Product at TechCrunch, where she leads product strategy and manages the engineering and design team. Before joining TechCrunch, she worked as a product manager at Wired, where she served as product lead on a relaunch of wired.com and played a key role in integrating the magazine's print and digital efforts. Prior to that, she was a producer at Disney, where she developed games and interactive strategies in support of Disney Channel properties. Tan Lee Chin

Lee Chin is the Chief Operating Office (Content & Commercial) for Sin Chew Media Corporation. She currently heads the digital content and media lab department in Sin Chew, overseeing its digital assets such as www.sinchew.com.my and Pocketimes.

She joined Sin Chew Daily in 2008 as a culture and education reporter after a short stint in legal practice. Hyo-Seop Shin is the newsroom editor for the digital news division at Chosun Ilbo, where he has worked since 2004. In October 2015, he became the head of digital news division, which is in charge of the publisher’s VR project, which started in February 2016. VR Chosun App, which his team developed, won "Most Innovative" at 2016 Google Play Awards in Korea. His previous positions at Chosun Ilbo include being an editorial writer and an article editor of culture, entertainment, and sports. Before joining Chosun Ilbo, he worked for the political department of Hankook Ilbo from 1988 to 2004.

Warren Fernandez joined the paper in 1990 as a political reporter and rose to become a News Editor. He went on to serve as Foreign Editor and Deputy Editor.

Fernandez then joined Royal Dutch Shell in 2008 as a Global Manager for its Future Energy Project, before returning to the paper in February 2012 as its Editor. He assumed the role of Editor-in-Chief of Singapore Press Holdings’ (SPH) English/Malay/Tamil Media group (EMTM) from July 2016.

Jonny Wright was appointed Managing Director International of Dow Jones in January 2016. He previously served as Managing Director APAC and Publisher of Financial News and WSJ Pro. Mr. Wright is responsible for defining and implementing growth strategies for The Wall Street Journal and Dow Jones outside the United States. Mr. Wright is based in Hong Kong.

Guillaume Sachet is the Head of Strategic Planning at MediaCorp, where he drives group strategy, corporate development and innovation including mentoring startups in MediaCorp’s Mediapreneur incubator program. Google News Lab Lead, APAC

Irene Jay Liu leads Google News Lab in the Asia-Pacific region. She was previously an investigative reporter and data editor at Reuters, where she was a 2017 Pulitzer finalist in the national reporting category. Earlier, she worked at the South China Morning Post and as a political reporter with the Times Union in Albany, New York.  She teaches data-driven investigative journalism at the University of Hong Kong and Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Director, Global Advisory - WAN-IFRA, Germany

Ben is a leading expert on digital media, and at WAN-IFRA he has the task of providing independent advice on digital strategy and organisational change. He will also lead the various WAN-IFRA initiatives to support the media industry in its transformation.

Previously, he was Shaw Media's Chief Digital Officer, and focused in driving digital revenue and audience for their digital products in the United States. Shaw was also the company’s CTO and previously IT Director. He oversaw the alignment of all technologies to Shaw’s audience and revenue growth strategies. He was also actively involved in optimizing Shaw Media's over 100 print and digital publication products and workflows. He is a licensed Apple iOS Developer and an Apple Certified Help Desk Specialist.

Michael Beach is an innovative media executive well-versed in driving multi-media strategy and operations. His journalism career includes winning a Walkley Award for Australia’s best news story. And he currently sits on the Walkley Advisory Board.

He is also former New York Bureau Chief for News Corp who covered the September 11 terror attacks in 2001. He edited The Saturday Daily Telegraph in Sydney before moving to Perth to play a key role in transforming of two of Australian best media brands – The West Australian and 7 News.

Dushyant Sapre is Criteo’s Acting Commercial Director for India and the Business Development Director for Australia, India and Southeast Asia. As Business Development Director, Dushyant advises leading digital publishers on ways to navigate through the fast changing digital landscape and keep the content free for users via digital advertising.

Thomas Jacob was appointed as the Chief Operating Officer of WAN-IFRA in 2012. He is responsible for developing and implementing the organization’s strategy to be a platform for exchange of ideas, information and experiences among the global news publishing industry. Prior to this Jacob was the Deputy CEO, taking care of regional operations.

Prior to WAN-IFRA, Jacob worked for DMG Media, publisher of Daily Mail and Metro in the United Kingdom. As the International Development Director, he identified and evaluated digital media companies in Asia for potential acquisition. He also conceptualized and launched a compact midmarket newspaper, Mail Today, for the Indian market as a JV with the India Today Group.

Jacob is an MBA from the University of Chicago, Booth School of Business. As a summa cum laude, he is also a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, an honor society for management in the United States.

He is a trained engineer in electronics and telecommunications, having graduated with distinction from the National Institute of Technology, Suratkal, in India.

Scott D. Anthony is the Managing Partner of Innosight. Based in the firm’s Singapore offices since 2010, he has led Innosight’s expansion into the Asia-Pacific region as well as its venture capital activities (Innosight Ventures).

In his decade with Innosight, Scott has advised senior leaders in companies such as Procter & Gamble, Johnson & Johnson, Singtel, Kraft, General Electric, LG, the Ayala Group, and Cisco Systems on topics of growth and innovation. He has extensive experience in emerging markets, particularly in India, China, and the Philippines.

Joon-Nie Lau

Joon-Nie leads the WAN-IFRA APAC team in Singapore. A lawyer by training, Joon-Nie spent over 15 years in broadcast television as a reporter, interactive producer, current affairs producer and news editor at Channel News Asia and its predecessors SBC News and TCS News. She has won several in-house awards for reporting, executive producing and best ‘live’ coverage and a Student Emmy for her Masters documentary project produced at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism while under a fellowship from MediaCorp. 

In her seven years teaching at Nanyang Technological University, Joon-Nie set up and headed Newsplex Asia, a US$700,000 convergent training newsroom and media lab in partnership with WAN-IFRA.

Besides being a Vice-President of the Singapore Press Club for over 16 years and co-founding the Hacks/Hackers Singapore chapter in 2015, Joon-Nie is also a regular speaker and trainer at conferences, workshops and industry panels both locally and abroad.
