Trauma Literacy for News Leaders
The first introductory webinar introduced managers, editors, and team leaders to the notion of psychological injury, basic tips on how to identify it in staff and how to limit trauma exposure in the newsroom.
This is now followed by an exclusive three-part series which brings together 16 newsroom leaders for advanced Manager training to discuss, learn and refine trauma-literacy skills to build a trauma-resilient newsroom.
Eligibility criteria:
- You are already aware of the impact of trauma on your newsroom teams and have some basic understanding about the relationship between trauma and journalism
- You want to learn how to improve your skills in supporting and educating your staff
- You want to begin to build processes and policies in your organisation to respond to workplace risks of trauma exposure in an effective way
This is an interactive program involving 3 x 1.5 hour sessions over Zoom. All participants are expected to attend EVERY session, leave their videos ON, and actively engage. Participants may be asked to complete reflections or exercises between sessions.
