Session 4: Exploring new types of conversation with your audience

    Chat apps and bots

What are the strategic motivations that publishers such as Rappler of the Philippines, the NYT, the youth section of Helsingin Sanomat of Finland, and Quartz of the US – had for launching chatbots and developing conversational apps? How did they developed these projects and what business models are they using to support their journalism? Are this type of projects worth exploring for a newsroom with limited resources?

Lessons we've learnt so far at ST Visuals

Creating content for a mobile-first and time-starved audience is challenging but full of creative solutions. Not everyone consumes content equally. Interactive graphics allow us to provide various layers of information, from the simplified for the average reader to the more complex for those readers who want to dive deeper into the story or data. Rebecca will go through some of the key lessons the ST Visuals team have learnt from their recent projects.
