CEO, WAN-IFRA, France

Peyrègne took up duties as Chief Executive Officer of the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers (WAN-IFRA) on 1 October 2012. Prior to joining WAN-IFRA, since the end of 2008 he worked in the office of the French minister of Culture and Communication where he was responsible for newspapers and new media as well as the “états généraux de la presse écrite,” the French government’s response to the economic difficulties facing the newspaper industry. From 2004 to 2008 he was head of development at Edipresse Publications SA in Lausanne, with responsibility for reader studies and marketing research.

Director, Global Advisory - WAN-IFRA, Germany

Ben is a leading expert on digital media, and at WAN-IFRA he has the task of providing independent advice on digital strategy and organisational change. He will also lead the various WAN-IFRA initiatives to support the media industry in its transformation.

Previously, he was Shaw Media's Chief Digital Officer, and focused in driving digital revenue and audience for their digital products in the United States. Shaw was also the company’s CTO and previously IT Director. He oversaw the alignment of all technologies to Shaw’s audience and revenue growth strategies. He was also actively involved in optimizing Shaw Media's over 100 print and digital publication products and workflows. He is a licensed Apple iOS Developer and an Apple Certified Help Desk Specialist.

Anjali Kapoor

Anjali Kapoor is Head of Digital, Asia for Bloomberg Media, where she is responsible for overseeing the execution of Bloomberg's digital strategy in the region. Her team of digital editors based in Hong Kong work to unify Bloomberg’s powerful existing media assets – including Bloomberg News, Bloomberg Businessweek, Bloomberg Markets and Pursuits magazines, Bloomberg Television, Bloomberg Radio and original digital video - to deliver relevant stories for Bloomberg.com. Previously, Anjali was Director, Digital News Strategy at The Globe and Mail in Canada where she oversaw the digital editorial strategy from Singapore for more than three years. Before moving to Singapore, she was the Managing Editor, Digital for the publication in Canada, where she worked with senior management to shift the traditional newsroom into a digital culture.

Yumiko Ono

As Dow Jones' Asia Digital Editor, Yumiko Ono oversees the WSJ's video and social-media teams in Asia and is responsible to grow their audience in the region. She also assists with the overall management of operations across the Asia newsroom. Yumiko was previously Dow Jones' Audience Engagement Editor and, as such, she was focusing on social media, SEO and new content in order to make the WSJ stories reach a wider audience in Asia in English, Japanese and other local languages.

John Pullman

John Pullman is Global Head of Video, Pictures, Sport, Lifestyle and Entertainment for Reuters. His role spans visuals and text as the company focuses increasingly on multimedia news for digital markets. John started his career in newspapers in the UK, and worked at senior level for Independent Television News in London and Al Jazeera English in Qatar before joining Reuters in 2010.

Peter Zollman

Peter has been in the news business for 35 years, and been actively involved in interactive media for more than 20 years. He is executive editor and publisher of Classified Intelligence Report, and has written many industry "white papers" and special reports about interactive media and classified ads. Zollman has consulted with media groups, trade associations, broadcasters, magazines and others to help develop successful interactive media services. He speaks often at major industry conferences.

Robb Montgomery is a journalism professor, consultant and serial entrepreneur based in Berlin, Germany. He is the author of two books on visual storytelling and the founder of several businesses including Visual Editors, Montgomery Multimedia and the Smart Film School.

Montgomery is a former visual editor for the Chicago Tribune and Chicago Sun-Times. He redesigned the San Francisco Examiner in 2005 and has led innovation projects throughout his career.

Montgomery teaches Mobile Journalism and Design Thinking at several European universities and is the author of “A Field Guide for Mobile Journalism” (iTunes) and “Smartphone Filmmaking” (Taylor & Francis).

He has two best-seller courses on Udemy (Smartphone Filmmaking and Mobile Journalism) and founded the Smart Film School in 2015 to provide certificate training resources for schools and organizations.

Iain Martin is the Asia Editor for Storyful. Storyful has a team of six people in its Hong Kong bureau working to discover the best stories, photos and video from social media in Asia. Iain joined Storyful in 2012 after working as a financial journalist in London since 2007.

Joey Chung

Joey Chung is the Co-Founder and CEO of The News Lens, one of the fastest growing new digital news sites in Asia which was started in mid 2013.
