The 70th World News Media Congress and the 25th World Editors Forum took place in Estoril, Portugal from June 6-8, 2018

Whether it was in the packed Women In News Summit, World Editors Forum, or the numerous other sessions, editors and publishers from all over the world came together to talk about solutions, moreso than just problems. Our 2018 Congress has an extra special dimension: it marks 70 years since the organisation was founded. In 1948, in the aftermath of World War II, editors from the clandestine press in France and the Netherlands were determined to fight for the survival of a free press worldwide. They formed an association, FIEJ. While much has changed, their mission still binds WAN-IFRA's members today.
