Designer and Infographist, O Globo, Brazil

Alessandro Alvim has been graphic editor at O Globo (Rio de Janeiro - Brazil) since 1997. He graduated in Engraving from the School of Fine Arts at Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. His interest in infograhics began in his childhood reading encyclopedias and history books about World War II. He was 19 years old when he started working in the press, in 1991. In the 20th Malofiej, his name was among the 25 infographists most voted in the election for the best graphic artist of the past twenty years. His work was recognized at the Malofiej, Society for News Design (SND), Inter American Press Association, ÑH awards and Esso Prize, the most traditional press award in Brazil. Nowadays, he works producing digital narratives.

As Premium Content Editor for Swedish daily Svenska Dagbladet (SvD), Viktor’s responsibility is to bridge the gap between the paper’s data analysts and the newsroom. Through an innovative, insight-driven approach, he works closely with both sides to make sure SvD delivers top quality journalism worth paying for.

Prior to joining Svenska Dagbladet in 2017, Viktor spent four years at Metro Sweden, where his most recent position was Head of Print. Since starting his career as a subeditor, he has worked at all of Sweden’s top publications and has had almost every job available at a paper. Viktor has long experience supervising journalists in topics ranging from breaking news to feature and everything in between. Milvia Archilla is a journalist, editor and coordinator of coverages for the written and digital press. She has over 25 years of journalistic experience in print and digital media and more than 10 years of experience in supervising journalists in news writing, breaking news, videos and social media management. Throughout her career, she has directed special coverages on a large scale such as general elections, sporting events and entertainment. She was one of the editores in charge of covering the passage of hurricanes Irma and María through Puerto Rico in September 2017.

Executive Director, Interactive Advertising Bureau - IAB, Colombia

Business Administrator from the Universidad de Los Andes. For 13 years, she has been the Executive Director of Interactive Advertising Bureau- IAB Colombia, an international organization that promotes the development and transformation of the marketing and advertising industry in the digital era. As director of this organization, she has managed to bring together in a significant way a relevant number of associated companies, representative of the advertising and marketing market, has carried out different academic and research activities to promote the evolution of digital advertising and has managed to increase the relevance of these areas, as well as the professionalization of this industry. It has supported the creation of Diplomas in Marketing and Digital Advertising with some of the best universities in the country (CESA, Jorge Tadeo Lozano, EAFIT, ICESI, Universidad de Caldas, among others), as well as support with specific modules in undergraduate, master's degrees and specializations with Universities such as Sergio Arboleda, GSB of the Universidad del Rosario, Universidad Autónoma de Occidente and with the Universidad Externado de Colombia. In parallel and since 2020, Olga has been part of Mindersgroup, a platform for top / senior management executive education programs, dedicated to digital business and transformation, with a presence in Latin America.


For 10 years, she served as Executive Director for Colombia of the Effie Awards, the most relevant awards in the advertising industry with more than 50 years of presence in the world dedicated to promoting effective advertising. Her work highlighted Colombia as the country in Latin America with the most registered cases.


Previously, Olga worked in marketing and advertising areas of important companies such as Banco Davivienda, McCann-Erickson, El Espectador and the ANDA (National Association of Advertisers) in 26 years of work experience.


She was chosen in 2018 as one of the “Women to Watch Colombia” by P&M magazine in partnership with Adage.

In Latin America, he was Digital Managing Director for ICCK (Digital arm of Grupo Santo Domingo), Colombia's largest and most diverse media holding, with brands such as EL ESPECTADOR, CARACOL TELEVISIÓN, BLU RADIO, GOL CARACOL, CINECOLOMBIA, SHOCK, CROMOS.

VP, Customer Data and Insights, The New York Times, USA

Aram joined the New York Times as VP, Customer Data and Insight in September 2017.  He oversees all consumer revenue measurement modeling for acquisition and retention, subscriber forecasting / reporting for finance as well as audience targeting and segmentation efforts. Aram previously consulted for Spotify and Nestle Waters, where he helped to build analytics and martech capabilities, and has extensive experience in advanced analytics for media measurement.  He graduated from Northwestern University with a B.A., Political Science and a minor in International Studies.

Editor-in-Chief, LA NACION, Argentina

José del Rio has been specialized in business and economic journalism for 23 years. He also holds a degree in Business Administration from Argentine university UBA and in 2010 he completed a postgraduate course in advanced finance at the UCA. He is currently doing a PhD in Business Administration.

Today he is the Editor-in-Chief of Argentine daily newspaer La Nación.

For almost eleven years he was the journalistic director of El Cronista's magazine group and the newspaper's deputy director. 

He was editor of the newspaper El Cronista between 1999 and 2004, of magazine Negocios, Apertura, Chacra and collaborator of several foreign media.

He was columnist specialized in economy for 10 years in the program "No somos nadie", which airs from 6 to 9 on FM Metro 95.1 until July this year and currently leads "Un tiempo más" on the same radio. 

He was a columnist for El Cronista TV, a program that was awarded as the best journalistic program of 2010 by ATVC. He was also a radio producer of more than 12 economic and television cycles of the TV business news program on the Telefé cable signal.

Since the creation of the signal LN +, he leads the Business Community program and Mesa Chica.

Beth Diaz is the Vice President of Audience Development and Analytics at The Washington Post.  In this role, she oversees research, analytics, testing and optimization, and email marketing. She develops pricing, platform and content strategies to grow and engage The Post’s digital audience, optimize the user experience and maximize company revenue.

In Beth’s 15 years at The Washington Post, she has served across a wide variety of departments and functions, including sales, circulation, and product development. Prior to her tenure at The Post, she was a management consultant with the Monitor Group, working primarily with large retailers and consumer goods companies on consumer marketing strategies. 

She earned a bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University, a MPP in Press, Politics, and Public Policy from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Peter Elkins-Williams leads Facebook’s partnerships with global subscriptions publishers, working with them to evaluate and optimize their investment and efforts across Facebook’s suite of apps and services, to test new products and media formats, and ultimately, to grow and retain their subscribers or members.  Prior to Facebook, Peter led Business and Corporate Development for Atlantic Media, parent company of The Atlantic, Quartz, and the National Journal Group.  At Atlantic Media, Peter was responsible for incubating and launching growth strategies and new initiatives throughout the editorial, technology, and revenue teams across the company.  This includes architecting The Atlantic’s first long term social strategy and first paid digital products, helping to launch Quartz, and leading the evaluation of internal and external investment opportunities.  Peter received a JD/MBA from New York University and a BA from Duke University.  He lives in New York City.

Dheerja Kaur Chief Product Officer at theSkimm, a company that focuses on delivering news and information into the routines of female millennials. They have an audience of millions who engage with them daily via their newsletter, app, and audio/video products. Prior to joining theSkimm, Dheerja was an engineering and product leader at ESPN, working across all of their digital products and spearheading major products like Grantland, some of their flagship apps, and a relaunch of ESPN.com.

CEO, Local Media Association, USA

Nancy Lane is the dynamic leader of the Local Media Association, an organisation that supports nearly 3,000 newspapers, TV stations, digital sites, radio stations and R&D partners in North America. LMA’s mission is to reinvent business models for news.  

The association announced the creation of Accelerate Local last year and launched six different labs including the GNI Subs Lab, The Branded Content Project and the Digital Transformation Lab for Publishers of Color. In 2020, four new projects have been launched: COVID-19 local news fund (has raised $1.4 million for over 200 publishers), Oklahoma Media Center, a news collaborative in Chicago and The Fund for Local Journalism.

Lane has served as CEO since October 2000 and prior to that she held publisher and senior level positions with daily and weekly newspapers in Pennsylvania, Connecticut and Missouri. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Villanova University and also serves as the immediate past president on the VU Alumni Association Board of Directors.

Digital Vice President, Caracol Televisión, Colombia

Marcelo Liberini is one of the forerunners of the digital industry in Argentina. He has more than 20 years of experience in the development of new strategies related to digital transformation and among his outstanding achievements appears participation in executive directions of Digital Media, E-commerce, Mobility and Videogames; manages perfectly the niche of entertainment and digital journalism in various platforms and has won several awards as head of 'transmedia' projects based on intellectual property.

Liberini has held several management positions in strategic areas and telecommunications and Internet projects and projects for mobile platforms, he served as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of CMD, the company in charge of digital innovation operations in Grupo Clarín from Argentina.

He has a degree in Computer Science from the University of Buenos Aires and today faces the challenge of strategic development and the integration of Caracol Televisión's digital content at the head of the country's most important digital media unit, Caracol Next.

María López is Executive Vice President of Grupo Semana, one of the last independent publishing houses in Latin America. She's been recognized in the Women to Watch 2018 list and has won the Young Global Leader Award of the World Economic Forum. María focuses her work on leading the digital transformation of her company at a time of enormous disruption for the industry. She is the founder of the Fundación Semana and the Festival Detonante, a platform whose aim is to empower new generations to become agents of change in their communitities through creative industries.

Paula Miraglia is one of the co-founders and the CEO of Nexo Jornal, a Brazilian digital-only news startup based in São Paulo. Since its launch in November 2015, Nexo has won the ONA General Excellence in Online Journalism award (2017), the Malofiej bronze medal in for its infographics portfolio (2018), and the NH award for best digital publication (2016 and 2017). Paula holds a PhD degree in Social Anthropology from the University of São Paulo, where she also graduated in Social Sciences. Previously she has been the Director General of the International Centre for the Prevention of Crime – ICPC, based in Canada, and the Executive Director of the Brazilian office of ILANUD, United Nations Latin American Institute.  She has also work as a consultant to the World Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank.

Deputy Director, El Tiempo, Colombia

Andrés is Deputy Editor in Chief at EL TIEMPO, the leading newspaper in Colombia with the largest readership. He heads the editorial production in the newsroom and the convergence in all platforms as well as the integration with other print and digital products of El Tiempo such as ADN the daily free newspaper, and the magazines Donjuán, Aló, and Hola Colombia. He has also led other projects, as the implementation of the first podcast platform of El Tiempo, the creation of the Journalism Multimedia School, or the implementation of a new model based on analytics to satisfy audience needs. In addition to that, he has won several journalism awards as the CPB and Simón Bolívar awards in Colombia. He holds a BA Hons in Social communication and Journalism and a Masters in Political Science.

Digital storyteller with a strong passion and expertise for creative innovation. She currently works as the Executive Producer at AJ+ Español, and has been Associate Producer at Werner Herzog, Interactive Producer at the Associated Press, and Head of Video at El País America (where she managed to start their new digital video operation).

Visual thinker and journalist. Currently working with digital narratives and news innovation at the heart of the new generation of storytellers. Originally a documentary filmmaker, she now works with digital media, leads cross format teams, creates interactive storytelling, develops social media strategies and cares for great content. 

During the latest Mexican Presidential elections period, she led all the visuals at Verificado 2018: a fact checking, collaborative journalism initiative to fight fake news and misinformation.

She holds a Master degree at the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism with a focus in Documentary Filmmaking and Digital Media. She has worked in several countries like Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, the United States, India, Cameroon, Ecuador, and Colombia.

She was awarded the Premio Gabo in 2018 after her coverage on Venezuelan immigration; Preiodismo Ortega y Gasset in 2016 with a deep coverage of enforced disappearances in Colombia and Mexico; Premio Nacional de Periodismo Simón Bolívar (three times) with projects about white elephants, corruption in Córdoba, a Swedish citizen kidnapping in Alto Sinú, and land dispossesions in Córdoba and the Urabá area of Antioquia; and finally Premio Iberoamericano Sociedad para Todos with a compendium of children violence's stories.

Daniel Moreno is the Editor-in-Chief and founder of Animal Político, an on-line newspaper launched in November 2010.

Since 1989 Daniel has been a reporter in different news media groups such as Unomásuno, El Economista, and El Financiero, or Reforma (in which he participated in its foundation and worked as  a Political Information Coordinator between 1993 and 2000)

In 2001, he was the publisher of Cambio magazine, when this was lead by Gabriel García Márquez, and later he worked as deputy editor of the newspaper El Universal.
He was deputy general director of Milenio Diario and editorial director of Excelsior, responsible for the graphic and editorial redesign of the newspaper.

He directed W Radio, integral station of the Prisa Group.

He is a professor in the journalism master's program at CIDE and a radio collaborator in the groups Fórmula and Televisa Radio.

He has been a speaker at events on journalism, digital journalism and freedom of expression organized by the New Journalism Foundation, the Congress of Digital Journalism of Spain, the World Bank, the UN, the IDB and the Spanish group Vocento.

Raju Narisetti previously was Professor of Professional Practice at Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism and also Director of Knight-Bagehot Fellowship in Economics and Business Journalism.

Previously, he was CEO of Gizmodo Media Group, a group  of digital journalism sites that included Gizmodo, Jezebel, Deadspin, Lifehacker, and The Root.

A media executive with a track record in creating, rethinking and managing major media organizations  in North America, Europe and Asia, Raju was previously Senior Vice-President of Strategy at News Corp.

Prior to that, he was Managing Editor of The Wall Street Journal Digital Network, where he is responsible for WSJ's digital / mobile content strategy and execution;  the Managing Editor of The Washington Post, where he led the integration of its digital and print businesses; the Editor of The Wall Street Journal Europe; and is the Founder of Mint, the second-largest business newspaper in India.

Raju is a Board Trustee of the Wikimedia Foundation, which manages Wikipedia. His home is in New York City though he is often found, rather plainspoken, @raju

Executive Director, El Colombiano, Colombia

Martha is one of Colombia's most innovative news executives. 

She directed the redesign of the business newspaper, La República, as Strategy and Business Director, a project that later earned a Lápiz de Acero (Steel Pencil) Award. She subsequently led the renovation project at EL COLOMBIANO, as part of its 100th year anniversary, and created and directed the Strategy and Innovation Lab (ECOLAB), a position she has filled since then. In January of 2013 she was named Editor in Chief of EL COLOMBIANO, a multimedia brand with more than 108 years of history, always committed to social development.

She currently serves the board of INMA (International News Media Association) and its LATAM board, as past-president. She's part of the board of the Medellín Museum of Modern Art as well as on the board of the Secretos para Contar Foundation, which promotes literacy and education for rural families.

She has been recipient of the Fe en la Causa (Faith in the Cause) medal awarded by the Presidency of the Republic; the “José María Córdoba” Military Merit, awarded by the National Army of Colombia, and she and her team have earned four major INMA awards, a King of Spain, and several SND awards for excellence.

Adam Pasick oversees the Times's portfolio of newsletters, including The Morning, DealBook, and the Coronavirus Briefing.

Prior to join The New York Times, Adam worked at Quartz where he was the Senior editor for newsletters and oversaw Quartz's global push team, which includes the Quartz Daily Brief and Quartz Obsession email newsletters, and the award-winning Quartz app for iPhone and Android.

His previous experience includes jobs at New York Magazine, where he was the website's managing editor, and a 10-year career at Reuters, where he will probably never live down a brief stint as bureau chief in the virtual world Second Life.

Ben leads product marketing for Facebook’s portfolio of news monetization products, working with both publishers and engineering teams to design and build products that drive publishers’ businesses forward. His work has ranged from Instant Articles to ad tech, with a current focus on products supporting subscriptions businesses. Prior to joining Facebook, Ben worked in the strategy group at The New York Times, where he worked on the Times’ digital subscription model and new product strategy. Ben received a MBA from The Wharton School and a BA from Williams College. He lives in San Francisco.

Andiara Petterle is an entrepreneur and executive of the digital market since 1998. Currently, she is senior vice-president of Product Development and Operations at Grupo RBS. Previously she was vice president Newspapers and Digital Media for the same group. Before joining RBS, Petterle was the Executive Director of Strategy and Business Development at e.Bricks, RBS’s investment company focused on the digital industry. At e.Bricks, she acted as an advisor to several technology, e-commerce and media companies. She founded Grupo Bolsa de Mulher, one of the largest women's digital media companies in Latin America, and was CEO of Predicta and other digital companies in the country. Petterle has a bachelor and a master’s degree in Social Communications from PUC-RJ, was an invited researcher at Brown University, and has participated in business training programs at Harvard Business School and Stanford University Graduate School of Business.

Peyrègne took up duties as Chief Executive Officer of the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers (WAN-IFRA) on 1 October 2012. Prior to joining WAN-IFRA, since the end of 2008 he worked in the office of the French minister of Culture and Communication where he was responsible for newspapers and new media as well as the “états généraux de la presse écrite,” the French government’s response to the economic difficulties facing the newspaper industry. From 2004 to 2008 he was head of development at Edipresse Publications SA in Lausanne, with responsibility for reader studies and marketing research.

Greg Piechota is an academic researcher, a media consultant and a writer. As a researcher and an ex-fellow at Harvard and Oxford universities, he studies technology-enabled disruption patterns across industries, with a focus on business model innovation in news media. Mr Piechota is a former media executive with 20+ years of industry experience. He began his career at Poland's Gazeta Wyborcza in 1996 as a reporter in one of the smallest local offices rising to a news editor and a vice-president of Agora Foundation. The book, Unlocking the Customer Value Chain, which he wrote together with Professor Thales Teixeira of Harvard Business School was released in 2019 by Currency, a brand of Penguin Random House. Mr Piechota lives in Oxford, England.

Between 2014 and mid-2017, freelancer photojournalist of Associated Press, Agence France-Presse, ESPN, El País, Folha de São Paulo, Estadão, Vozerio, Deutsche Welle, Transparency International, Veja, Uol and El Mundo.

Managing Director, El Tiempo, Colombia

Roberto is one of the most respected journalists and media executives in Colombia. He studied law at the University of the Andes and he's been working for thirty-five year career in journalism. He started in 1979 as editor of 'Alternativa' magazine, he was a reporter for 'El Heraldo' de Barranquilla and editor-in-chief of daily 'Diario del Caribe' in the same city; he was reporter and political editor of El Tiempo, director of 'Noticiero TV Hoy" and "Viva FM" of Caracol Radio, director and columnist at Semana weekly magazine, editor and columnist of 'Cambio' magazine and director of the Mexico edition of that same publication for three years. In 2003 he served as General Editor of El Tiempo, where he is now the Managing Director . He has won several journalism awards amongst which the Simon Bolivar and CPB in Colombia, and the Ortega y Gasset prize, awarded by the daily El Pais of Spain.

Sameera Salari is a Product Manager on Facebook’s News Monetization team, focused on User Pay Products and working to build products that empower publishers as they develop their paid audiences. She leads product teams focused on building acquisition and retention solutions aimed at supporting publishers across their Subscriptions, Memberships and Donations models. Before this, she worked on Suicide Prevention and Memorialization Products at Facebook, where she built products that helped to connect mental health resources to the people who need them and protect and respect the online profiles of those who have passed away. Sameera has a Bachelor of Arts in City and Regional Planning, and a minor in Public Policy from the University of California at Berkeley.

Digital transformation, content strategy and innovation consultant, WEF Board Member, UK

Dmitry is an expert in digital transformation, content strategy, and innovation. He worked for 21 years at the BBC in London where he was responsible for developing and implementing the BBC’s digital editorial offer for 40 non-English foreign language new services. Originally from Moscow, Russia, Dmitry worked in various editorial-development roles for the digital section of BBC News. These roles required liaison between editorial, product and strategy teams in order to drive innovation and develop new ways of reaching audiences, increasing engagement across the world and, crucially, driving culture change is newsrooms. He is an experienced digital leader in content creation, specialising in growing audiences across the world, driving editorial changes in newsrooms and adapting the way organisations work in digital space, especially around content innovation and audience engagement.
After his years at the BBC, he joined Culture Trip, a startup operating at the intersection of media and travel. He is now pursuing new adventures. Dmitry's main area of expertise is on the intersection between Editorial, Organisational, Strategy and Product sectors.

She is the founder and leader of Vanguardia's investigative journalism team, recognized by national and international awards.
She's an expert in newsroom management, reengineering, processes and platform fusion and leads training in innovation projects, narrative journalism, research and long-term projects. Her daily work consists of guiding the editorial commitment of the media outlet in different platforms and narratives, as well as generating strategies to attract digital audience with quality content.

Co-author of the book, Romper el Silencio, or Breaking the Silence, where she describes the attacks from organized crime against Vanguardia and herself, during one the worst periods of organized crime in northern Mexico.

Cristina Tardáguila is the founder and director of Agência Lupa, the first fact-checking newswire service in Brazil. She graduated from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro in 2002, got her master’s degree in Journalism in Madrid in 2004 and her MBA degree on digital marketing in 2017, from Fundação Getulio Vargas, in Rio. Cristina in 38 year old and has worked at the two major daily newspapers in Brazil - O Globo and Folha de S.Paulo -, besides revista piauí and Agencia EFE. Cris is the author of two books by Intrinseca: "A Arte do Descaso" (about the biggest Brazilian art heist) and "Você foi Enganado" (about presidential lies). In 2017 she gave two TEDx talks on false news.
