Steffen Damborg (MBA) is a digital transformation specialist with over 10 years of experience in all aspects of running an online business in the media industry. He is a former Digital Director and Chief Development Officer at the leading Danish Publisher, JP/Politikens Hus, and is currently focusing on Digital Transformation for global media organisations accrued from his knowledge of working extensively in the European market.

Director Consumer Business - Schibsted Media

Bård Skaar Viken is Director Consumer Business in Schibsted Media. In his position Bård is responsible for all user revenues across four major Norwegian news media brands: Aftenposten, Bergens Tidende, Stavanger Aftenblad and Fædrelandsvennen. He also oversees a portfolio of magazines, niche services and junior products.

He joined Schibsted in August 2012 and has been in his current role since January 2017. Prior to his current role Bård has been Director Product and Consumer Business in Stavanger Aftenblad (2014-2015) and Director Digital User Revenues Schibsted Norway Subscription Media (2016)


Since 2014 he has worked primarily on growing Schibsteds subscription business with a special focus on increasing the number of paying digital subscribers, refining paid content models, drive conversion/sales and improving the overall customer journey.


He is a board member in the Norwegian Media Businesses’ Association.

Bård graduated from the University of Oslo in 2009 with a Master in Political Science and International Political Economy. He also has a Bachelor in International Studies.

Eugene Leow is currently the Head of Digital Strategy for SPH's English/Malay/Tamil Media Group. Prior to this, he was the digital editor of The Straits Times (ST), Singapore's largest selling broadsheet. Eugene's background covers over 13 years in digital media, overseeing his newspaper's transformative award-winning digital journey.

Eko Prabowo

Eko Prabowo is Marketing Strategic Manager at Kompas Daily. He has 16 years’ experience in media research, print circulation, advertising, and innovation, especially in digital media products.

Founder & CEO, Coconuts Media

Byron Perry is the Founder and CEO of Coconuts Media, an online news publisher reaching up to 26 million people per month.     The Coconuts.co network of city news websites was launched in 2011 and now runs in Bangkok, Manila, Singapore, Hong Kong, KL, Jakarta, Bali and Yangon, receiving up to 4.2 million monthly unique visitors.    Under the Coconuts TV brand, the company produces original documentaries exploring the weird and wondrous stories of Asia, which have been sold to Netflix, iflix, Fusion (USA), RTL (Germany), and ABS-CBN (Philippines).   Byron previously worked at Variety magazine in Los Angeles and attended Georgetown University in Washington DC. He is a board member of the Society of Publishers in Asia.

Andrew Hunter

Andrew Hunter is Facebook’s News Partnerships Lead for Australia and New Zealand. In this role, he is leading Facebook’s growing collaboration with ANZ news organisations.

Andrew began his career as a local news reporter and has worked in newspaper, magazine and digital news rooms. He co-authored the book All Your Friends Like This: How Social Networks Took Over News, which looks at the relationship between the news industry and social networks.

News & Search Technical Integration Lead, Google APAC

Swit Tei

Swit Tei is APAC News & Search Technical Integration Lead at Google, providing technical consultations to news organizations and data providers in making their content searchable on the web.

 

Since joining Google in 2011, Swit has held various positions, including being part of the Trust & Safety team where he advises webmasters on user experience and how to build high-quality content. His work at Google includes the launching of movie and restaurant reviews with leading publishers globally, Rio 2016 Summer Olympics Experience and Google Crisis Response in Southeast Asia.

 

Prior to joining Google, Swit was a solutions architect for the airline industry at Accenture. Swit holds a Masters Degree in Computer Science from Tokyo Institute of Technology. He is fluent in English, Thai and Japanese.

Abhishek Modi manages strategic product partnerships with news publishers across key Google products - News, Search and Assistant. He has been with Google for over four years and is based out of Singapore.

Abhishek has eight years of experience across News, Digital Marketing, Management Consulting and startups. He holds Bachelor and Masters degrees in Materials Science from Indian Institute of Technology (BHU).
