Until 2014 he was promoting news media by conducting dedicated advertising research – Impact, ROI and effect studies. The last few years he has been in charge of audience measurement for both print and online on behalf of NDP Nieuwsmedia, the organization for newsmedia in The Netherlands.

Xavier van Leeuwe (1975) has over ten years of experience as a marketing executive in media companies Telegraaf Media Groep, de Persgroep and NRC Media in the Netherlands. At NRC Media, Xavier has successfully lead his team from decline to growth by building a customer-centric and data-rich culture at a news organisation with 189 years of heritage in Amsterdam. Prior to being a media executive, Xavier worked several years as a financial and political journalist in the Netherlands. He started his career as a researcher for The United Nations in Geneva. Xavier has helped media companies with actionable insights and has been speaker at newspaper conferences in Antwerp, Amsterdam, Cologne and Atlanta. He is an active blogger for INMA.org and publishes a frequent and free newsletter Changemediaforgood.com. Koen Verstrepen performed scientific research on recommendations systems as a Ph.D. and Postdoctoral researcher at the University of Antwerp, at the Department of Mathematics and Information Science. Since his Ph.D. he works on artificial intelligence and machine learning for boosting conversion with the best in the world. Working closely with scientists from Netflix and Apple, he learned that true personalization can be achieved with artificial intelligence.

René van Zanten is the General Director of the Dutch Journalism Fund.
After a few years of studying Economics, he started (1980) working as a journalist for one of the most prestigious regional newspapers in the Netherlands (Haagsche Courant). He worked as a roving reporter, covering international issues with emphasis on East-West relations. He is a German Marshall Fund alumni as well as an Atlantic Exchange alumni.

In 1995, he became the Editor-in-Chief of the big regional newspaper Utrechts Nieuwsblad and in 2003 he became the publisher/director of the biggest regional newspaper in the Netherlands, De Gelderlander. He started at the Dutch Journalism Fund in 2011.

The Stimuleringsfonds voor de Journalistiek, or Dutch Journalism Fund, supports the quality, diversity and independence of journalism in The Netherlands by promoting innovation. To achieve this goal, the fund provides grants to innovative journalism projects, conducts research and stimulates knowledge sharing across the industry.

After studying computer science, Gerrit Schumann founded the Cologne-based company element 5 in 1996 together with three partners. The start-up provided a platform to computer programs over the Internetto send. A market gap with potential, recognized in 2004 by the US group Digital River and bought the company. Schumann joined the board after the acquisition and expanded the European business. In 2007 he founded his second start-up with Music Networx. The company produced live recordings of concerts and distributed them digitally. Music Networxs went into the company Simfy in 2009 and brought the first advertising-financed music streaming service for the German-speaking countries on the market. In 2013, Schumann moved to the streaming provider and Spotify competitor Deezer. He was previously responsible there as Chief International Officer for the worldwide expansion of the operative business before becoming CDO of Handelsblatt in 2017.

Ulf Oliver Poschardt is a German journalist and book author. Since September 6, 2016, he is the editor-in-chief of the „Welt-Gruppe" from Die Welt and Welt am Sonntag. From 1987 to 1991 Poschardt studied journalism at the University of Munich and the German School of Journalism, as well as philosophy at the Munich School of Philosophy.
